This is a really fun story, short and sweet! I think my only complaint is to have more, the universe/setting with the portals and whatnot is interesting. The "agreement" and subsequent breaking of the rules opens a lot of fun story questions, and has a lot of room for development. Not that it doesn't work as a standalone, it's fun to have a micro-story that opens and closes itself without needing a sequel.

I'm not usually into the destruction stuff but it does seem fun. You write the crush and enjoyment pretty well, and it makes sense that oil would get all over your hand if you squeezed any modern machine.

The story really stands out when they spot the little guy, a fun interaction and dialogue.
