This was very cruel. I particularly love how you can blend conflicting genres, this is a kind of aware-unaware story. I think the story could have used some build up in the beginning to get a sense of nice Dana for maximum contrast. But the story definitely still landed.
Thanks so much! I think I'd have liked even more buildup but this comm was already well over the agreed word count. It was a lot of fun to explore the mistaken identity as unaware, which I feel is a much better dynamic than true unaware. It was especially cruel to explore that dichotomy of nice/horrible and the payoff was perfect. Some of the flair was mine but all the ideas came from the commissioner, which sorta swept us all away in expanding the story.
