Wow, that was not what I was expecting when Eden immediately called him!
To see someone Eden's size in such a vulnerable state, having just been the victim of arson, is something we don't see a lot of in stories like this. Despite the weight of the scene, I found this to be pretty refreshing! And I really felt for her here. It wasn't just about the inconvenience this criminal act caused but the fact that someone would do that to her in the first place that drove the emotion of the scene.
The obvious assumption here is that she was targeted for her size and probably because of her particular status as a celebrity giant, just an act of blind hatred from some ignorant sizeist who felt as though Eden being different was reason enough to make her feel unsafe. Of course, we don't know that for sure yet, it's really hard to think of another reason that she could have been targeted.
I'll admit, when Aiden was thinking about how difficult life as a giant could be, this wasn't what I had in mind. I was thinking more along the lines of society not being built to their specifications and dealing with objectifying assholes like that Marcus dude. To see such a blatant act of prejudice is really eye-opening. What a brilliant piece of world building, taking advantage of the slow roll-out of details about this world to make a moment like this hit the reader hard. And given what we've seen of Eden so far, how sweet and kind she is, yeah, this moment was definitely impactful!
But beyond just showing a giantess in a uniquely vulnerable state, Aiden is able to step in and offer her comfort and support, which, again, is kind of rare for a tiny to do in these kinds of stories. I love that! The fact that Eden felt a little bit better just seeing his text pop up on her phone was heartwarming enough. But the way she was able to lean on him in a moment where she was so lost and clearly struggling to think straight was so awesome! Little details like the tears welling up in her eyes during the call and her not giving too much thought to the "logistics" of her staying with him show that she really needed someone in that moment, and it was so satisfying for him to be able to be that guy.
Speaking of the logistics side of things, it now seems pretty clear that Eden has no idea about the fact that Aiden's deceased wife was also a giant. That moment when she asked if Aiden could deal with "all of her" was sweet on its own, but I wonder how she'll react when she realizes that Aiden is even more familiar and comfortable around giants than she thought before. I have to imagine that Eden is usually pretty intimidating to any tiny dude she might like, even though she doesn't want to be. Finding out this guys she's starting to think about more and more really isn't bothered by her size at all could be the thing that really gets the ball rolling with these two!
Another great chapter here, and I'm excited with the direction you're taking this story! This little twist has made things even more interesting!

It's a sweet light slice of life. I just wanna root for 'em.
That seems to be the sentiment from a lot of readers. Glad you’re enjoying it!

Wow, that went dark really fast !
I didn't not foresee an arson like that, that's quite brutal. I can understand Eden's shock, to be honest. Hopefully, Aiden will help her cope as best he can. And their relationship will reach the next level soon !
We can only hope! Glad to hear you enjoyed this most recent chapter
