David Arnew is a shy, obsessive man trapped in a rigid daily routine. Each morning, he silently admires a beautiful woman on his bus, too afraid to speak to her. His attempts are often thwarted—most notably by Ida, a domineering former landlady who bullies him relentlessly. Desperate to avoid her and be closer to the woman he adores, David becomes fixated on shrinking himself. His obsession leads him to a mysterious witch in hopes of making himself small enough to escape his troubles and live unnoticed near his angelic crush.
