Cleaning House Part
Lenny Appleton lived in an off campus apartment with four other male roommates. Picture post tornado wreckage and you're about on the right track. Being average young men, and acting as average young men do, there was not a clean dish, polished tile, or clean sock to be found throughout the apartment.
The Layout was quite simple. Three bedrooms with one large common living space, a kitchen and a dining room, a balcony and a bathroom that no brave man dared enter, that was that. Each room equipped with his own computer networked together to provide the inhabitants a means of communication, effective AND with as little effort as possible. After all, we are talking about college males are we not?
Now Lenny was by no means Mr. Clean, but if you had to place each one of them in a particular stereotype, Lenny would fit best into such a role, which is to suggest that poor Lenny did not really have much going for him otherwise. Dan was the computer nerd, Guy was the jock, Derek and Wess were the gamers, and then there was Lenny, he was the average run of the mill extra.
Reading week was fast approaching. For Lennyâs roommates that of course meant free food, laundry and other such amenities offered by a home visit! To Lenny however, that meant one thing. A chance to have the place to himself! While everyone else made their various trekâs home, Lenny decided to camp it out this year. Yes he had the whole place to himself, and the first thing on his list was to clean the house!
You see there was a plan in all this! Do you really think our interpret hero would turn down home cooking, free laundry and all the pastry he could eat to stay in a damn rat hole for nothing? Well of course not, don't be ridiculous! Nevaeh Svobodova, she was an international student who throughout the year Lenny had managed to befriend. She was Czech, with long blond hair and a remarkable complexion; she was a most desirable woman. Lenny found her thick accent adorable, and she found his strange American customs and mannerisms amusing as well. The two of them had so much to talk about, she would talk about life back home, and he would explain to her about his life growing up in America. Nevaeh had grown up in Slovakia, her father and mother moved to Canada when she was 12, and later the USA.
If ever there was to be a night for something to happen, this was that night. The time was 4 pm, and Nevaeh was due over at 7 sharp. In that time, Lenny would have to prepare dinner, find something presentable to wear, and of course CLEAN!
The worst, and perhaps longest job would be cleaning the bathroom. Lenny rolled up his sleeves to begin the daunting task of cleaning the worldâs worst bathroom. Looking under the counter however, he found his options to be somewhat limited.
âBleachâŚ.Toilet duckâŚ.WindexâŚall nearly emptyâŚdamnit.â
Seeing no other option, Lenny poured the remaining chemicals all into one and added the hot water. If one cleaner was good, then three would be even better! There were of course more bottles under the sink, a few without labels also. Lenny decided to throw everything in. This job would call for everything he had!
Sure enough, the strange chemical cocktail did wonders. The smell however was rank. It smelt like ammonia and Bleach with a little lemon pledge on the side. The fumes however were not as innocent as Lenny might have hoped. In his ignorance, he had neglected to open a window, or at the very least, turned on a fan. Needless to say, in a matter of minutes our good friend Lenny found himself taking a nap on the linoleum floor.
Time passed and soon the clock struck quarter to seven. Lenny awoke slowly, his face pressed to the newly polished bathroom floor. His headache, and the smell of chemicals was still extremely strong; most of it however had dissipated.
Lenny was unaware as to where exactly he was at first. Everything looked different. The floor was a vast white desert of rock. Above him, the sky set a horizon with strange mountains and obelisks shaped like bathroom furniture. He was indeed confused, but of course the last thing that struck his mind was that he had in fact shrunk to an incredibly small size. No, he was convinced he was somewhere else. Perhaps he was dead? The Chemicals he had inhaled killed him? Was this the afterlife? An eternal wasteland of aloneness?
âHello?â
His voice echoed, there was no response.
He ventured forth, and walked for what seemed like hours. (In fact it had only been twenty minutes, but give the poor man a break, he was after all deadâŚor so he thought). Eventually he came to a change in terrain. There was no longer rocky white cement like ground, but thick plant like buds of material about knee high. It was difficult to wade through, but he managed. There was also a lot more obstacles now. Colossal white mountains, socks the size of football fields, shirts that looked like they could fit giants! Papers and pencils littered the halls of the massive room about him. Of course to Lenny none of this looked exactly like what it was, rather exaggerated unimaginable objects from an alien world! Reality was so close, yet his mind still could not grasp onto what had happened. His brain would not allow him to come to the realization that he had been shrunk, reduced to the size of a small bug.
Lenny wandered for another few moments, before the eerie silence was broken by a very loud rumble. It sounded like God was knocking on the roof or something, but then there was silence. Lenny shrugged and moved on, but then he heard it again, loud, like God himself demanded to be heard! Silence followed. Finally there was another noise, in reality it was the sound of a door opening, but to Lenny it sounded like nothing he had ever heard.
âLenny? You are here?â Nevaeh had arrived.
The boys at apartment 218 always kept their door unlocked. Friends would just walk in normally, after all there was never a time when SOMEONE wasnât home right?
Lenny heard the booming voice, he could make out the words, the thick Czech accent. The voice was unmistakably female, however it sounded much larger, like it was being magnified 100 times. He could still not see where it was coming from, but he could hear it.
âLenny? Vare are you? You are home?â Nevaeh took a step into the apartment. Taking her jacket off she placed it on the coat rack as she looked about. A frown reached her lips, the boys were so messy. She had been to the apartment before, and every time she wondered how human beings could live in such filth.
Lenny heard the voice once more, and this time he felt something. It was like a small earthquake. Like they use to get back home. Not enough to knock you off your feet, but enough to wake you up at night.
âWhat the fuck?â Lenny looked about, moving towards the sound, he looked beside him in all directions, but it wasnât until he looked up that he found the source of the sound. âHoly shit!â
In the distance Lenny could see her. It was Nevaeh, only huge! He watched her from a distance, she was massive, he didnât move at all as she walked closer and closer, looking all around for someone.
âZis is strange. Why Lenny not tell me he cancel?â Nevaeh crossed her arms and stopped, tapping her foot on the ground.
Lenny fell back onto his ass as Nevaeh stopped millimeters before him. She was big before, now she was colossal! He looked up at the expanse that was her legs, covered in blue denim, her normal jeans and tee shirt look. They were so long it was like staring up at a skyscraper. Her chest and arms bulged out so far above him, he could not see past there because of it. Her shoes, black low heel suede boots that tucked under the leg of her pants. The tap tap tap tap of her shoe, to Lenny sounded more like âWhamâŚWhamâŚWhamâŚWhamâŚwhamâ.
Nevaeh let out a sigh.
âMaybe I vate for him.â
Unaware the person she was looking for sat right in front of her. She took a step forward and made her way to the couch, clearing a spot off, she sat down and crossed her legs.
âNO!â Lenny cowered as the giant foot before him rose quickly up and over him, and then down hard behind him, the other then lifted up high and swept along the sky covering what seemed like MILES! Nevaeh took a seat on the couch, so far away, but he could still see her clearly. She was like a building in the distance now, like looking at the city skyline and seeing the CN tower from your apartment window. She was so big, so close, yet so far.
âHow the heck am I gonna get out of this one!â
Lennyâs brain was slowly beginning to register the shocking reality. His heart began to race, his palms clammy, his skin pale. Nothing about this made any sense! Since when did bathroom chemicals shrink a man!
âCalm down LennyâŚdonât lose your head.â He spoke to himself, rubbing his temples slowly. âYou just have to get Nevaehâs attentionâŚrightâŚjust get her attention and she can get help!â
Getting her attention, it seemed like an easy plan right? All he had to do was get her to notice him. This would take a lot of work. He didnât have long to ponder the details much however, Nevaehâs voice broke, at his size her normal speaking tone was unignorable.
âMaybe I vill clean for them?â She stood from the couch as she spoke. âUntil Lenny comes back.â
Lenny took in her glory once more as she stepped above and past him yet again. This time she moved back to the door where she slipped off her boots. Looking up at her, Lenny realized just how difficult this would be.
âAh crap.â
It seemed she would start by picking up the junk off the floor. Nevaeh went right to work, she began to sift through the paper plates, dirty clothes, petrified food remains, and school books, attempting to make sense of it all. All Lenny could do was watch as the maze-like floor filled with traps and building size piles of junk slowly became more and more recognizable as a living room floor, rather than a tornado zone!
âMaybe this isnât so bad after all! Hey, maybe I should have her over more often!â He let out a laugh and crossed his arms. Getting her attention was still on his mind, but he didnât have a clue how. Funny how in the middle of such a stressful situation, he still found time to laugh.
The goddess moved in slow motion it seemed, as he watched her from far below. Her breasts bounced in perfect rhythm with her hips as she moved. Her arms hung down at their sides and swung to keep step with her movements. Her fingers curled slightly, she was magnificent! Even her feet were beautiful. Light blue fuzzy toe socks with white rims that hugged tight to her ankle. It was like standing in the middle of an IMAX theatre watching a super model strut about the runway. There was no doubt in his mind or pants for that matter, Lenny was turned on.
Lenny shock his head back and forth to snap himself out of the trance.
âRight! Time to get her attention!â.
He looked about for something, anything that could work. What he needed was leverage! He needed to find higher ground. At first he thought of the couch, but after a few moments and more than one painful landing on his ass, he gave that idea up. Then the coat rack got his attention, but it was slick and nothing for leverage. Then his eyes landed on the dining room table. The table legs were too large for him to get his arms totally around, but not large enough that climbing the pole would be impossible.
âHere we go!â He took a running start and leapt at the table leg.
âUrg! Erk! RRAAA!â Lenny screamed as he tried to shimmy up the pole, but his own body weight was working against his tiny muscles. He forced himself up a little bit, but his arms were shaking, he was losing his strength ! âNo!â He protested giving up and shimmied up a little more.
âTHUDâŚTHUDâŚTHUDâŚTHUDâ The ground moved once more as Nevaeh approached, Lenny turned head to find himself at ankle height. He was so tired, so sore! But not even a quarter of the way up! Nevaeh lingered before him as she seemed to get something on the table. God only knows what she was doing, but her presence made Lennyâs heart begin to pound once more. She was captivating, but incredibly intimidating.
âUrrg!â He grunted as he shimmied up again, and again. But soon his arms were shaking violently, he pressed himself up against the giant steel table leg, but his muscles were giving way, slowly he began to slide down. He fought it, and lurched up again, but his arms would have none of it and gave out. A free fall from ankle height, but to him it was like falling out of a two story window!
âAhhh!!!â He screamed, expecting to land on the tile floor and break an arm or leg. But his landing was broken by something much softer. Nevaehâs socking foot.
Lenny huffed and puffed, and began to laugh. Saved by the foot! He rolled over and looked up at the sky scraper goddess above. She was getting something ready on the table.
âPlan BâŚâ
He muttered as he sat up. A sick feeling came over him as he sat up; however, Nevaeh was moving! The quick movement jerked him back flat against her foot. His tiny fingers gripped onto the fibres of her sock as tightly as he could. She had just spun around and was about to walk.
âNevaeh! NEVAEH! WAIT!â
The âGâ force from her single step caused Lennyâs cheeks to wobble, he felt like he was on some sort of roller coaster! The movement didnât last long, it was interrupted with a sudden and severe jolt! His arms screamed in pain, it felt as if they would become dislodged from their sockets. The movement temporarily subsided, but only for a second as the foot he was on prepared to take another step.
âO..Oh no! Not again!â
Lenny wanted to cover his mouth, but he was afraid to let go. The world passed by in such a blur, it only added to the sick feeling in his gut. He soon found closing his eyes a better idea than keeping them open.
âBOOMâ her foot landed with such a loud thud, his ears hurt. Once again a moment of terror followed by a very brief moment of peace, and repeat. This went on for what seemed like hours. Lennyâs tiny fingers clawed into the sock in order to keep on. In reality she had only taken about 10 steps, but it seemed like a million to Lenny. Nevaeh stopped, and for a moment there was peace. Turning on her heel, she doubled back the same way she had come. She was on her way back to the table. Her steps were faster and harder as she hurried back. She had wanted to clean the table off but forgot the rag, she was on her way back with it now.
Lenny held on as long as he could, but alas his poor arms could take no more and he let go. Nevaeh took a step as he let go, and the force from her footâs movement sent his near weightless body into orbit. Lenny was sure this would be the fall that got him! He landed however on the hard wooden surface of the living room table. It was the direction Nevaeh had been headed.
He landed with a hard thud, his face hurt and his bones ached, but he would survive. He stood after not too long and sat back, staring off into space until he could gather his barring once more. In his peripheral vision he could see Nevaeh working, something large was growing closer and closer, louder and louder. Finally he gathered up the energy to turn his head and look.
âOh dammit all!â
What he saw was a giant arm stretched out, attached to that arm was a hand and on the end of the hand was a wash cloth. She was wiping the table down. Her hand moved in quick circles, covering every inch of the table, and it was quickly approaching his very position. The dirt and grime gave into a shining table top, but being the size of some of the food chunks left on the table did not bode well for Lenny.
Lenny stood up slowly and began to move away from the approaching hand. He could hear the friction from the wash cloth against the table, louder and louder closer and closer, and then it stopped. Lenny turned around to find it gone. He didnât notice at first the shadow covering him now, but it didnât take long.
âThey have Bug? I hate bug!â Her accent was thick when she spoke, but he understood what she was saying. She thought he was a bug!
âNevaeh! Iâm not a bug!â He shouted, but the narrowed eyes and furrowed brows spoke for themselves. Nevaeh was not happy to see him.
âHmmphâ She scoffed as she closed her fist and pointed the meaty palm of her thumb down towards the pitiful bug before her. Slowly she descended her thumb onto Lenny. The sky grew darker as her thumb grew closer, her nail polish was a dark silver, not that he was focusing much on that.
âGAAA!!!!â Lenny screamed in terror as he shimmied back. âNoâŚnononono wait!â
Her thumb landed before him, the tip of the nail catching the leg of his pants, pinching his skin slightly. Lenny let out a scream as her thumb twisted, she however soon noticed the miss and quickly raised her thumb once more.
âGo Squish!â She demanded as she more quickly slammed the meaty tip of her thumb into the table.
Lenny rolled out of the way this time, and again, and again. She was coming at him with relentless speed. Finally she let out a frustrated grunt and opened the palm of her hand.
âI hate bug!â
Lenny froze and looked up at her. Nevaeh looked down at him from her nose and in one swift motion dominated him and anything within ten feet(at his size) of him as she slammed her hand down onto him.
âNooooo wa..âFWAPOOMâŚ
There was silence, Lenny could hear his heart beating, he could feel the pulsations. Was he dead this time? No, for what it was worth, he was still alive. Her palm had landed on the table and he managed to find himself in-between her middle finger and pointer finger. Quick thinking dictated that being seen again was out of the question. He would have to deliver a message to her some other way. Without much thought into it, Lenny wedged himself inbetween her ring and finger. It was a tight fit, but if it meant she wouldnât see him to swat at him, well then it would give him time to think. Holding on however was just as difficult as it was wile on her foot. As she moved her hand all about to look for the squished corpse, Lenny felt it was going to be sick.
âEww..â Nevaeh had gotten her hand dirty when she had squished the âbugâ. The junk from the table masked any bug remains that may have been. Satisfying her need to rid the apartment of the insect. Nevaeh made her way to the kitchen to wash her hands.
Feeling safe and rather proud of himself, Lenny held onto the ring as tightly as he could. Her skin was so soft and tender, it warmed him. He wanted to stay pressed against her forever. In his own little world, he was oblivious to what was going on around him, that is until a splash of cold water woke him from his trance!
âAh!â He screamed.
Nevaeh effortlessly washed her hands, and Lenny held on for dear life! The water made the ring slippery, and he almost lost his grip more than once. But even as she patted her hands dry on her shirt, his grip held. Lenny took another deep breath and began to laugh.
âHahahaha!â He was in shock that through all this, he was in fact still alive!
âDonât they have any clean glasses?â Nevaehâs voice boomed once more. It appeared she was thirsty.
Lenny hugged her ring tightly as if thanking it for having been there to save his life. He felt nothing could harm him now that he had survived all that. He was even starting to get use to the movements of her hand. So when she lifted the hand he was on up to the water faucet to turn it on, he didnât so much as budge.
He watched as endless gallons of water filled the glass, it was more spectacular than Niagara Falls! Could anything fill such a huge glass? Eventually the water did, as her fingers twisted to turn the water off and then pulled back. Lenny didnât budge, but the ring did!
Damp from having washed her hands, and with Lennyâs tiny body already forming a wedge between her skin and the ring, when she pulled her hand back the ring slipped off effortlesslyâŚLenny with it.
âShit.â Nevaeh stumbled to catch her ring, however as that was not an option, she cleverly placed her water glass below it, and with a plunk it landed in the glass safelyâŚalong with its unwilling passenger!
âNevaehâŚglubâŚheallâŚHelggerrulllub! I canât Swim!â Lenny struggled to hold onto the ring. He screamed up at Nevaeh, and felt somewhat relieved when she stuck her fingers in to fish him and the ring out. However when she shock the ring off to dry it, Lenny was not so able to hold on, and back into the water glass he went.
âNoooglloolllgoooooooooup!â He struggled to remain afloat as Nevaeh put her ring back on and turned once more to the glass.
Her fingers pressed against the glass smushing her skin against the clear glass. Lenny watched the glass pass her supple chest, then her long beautiful neck, her delicate round chin, and her thick luscious lips. Panic overcame Lenny as her lips parted, strings of saliva cleared way as the glass rim touched against her lower lip.
âNevaeh please! Not like this!â He tried as hard as he could to fight the current, but the gallons and gallons of water in the glass emptied into the thirsty cavern of her mouth. Past white marble teeth as big as houses. The glass was almost empty and Lenny had managed to keep out of her mouth. But as she tilted the glass up to get one more drink, the water over came Lenny and he landed in her mouth.
âWait! WAIT!â He screamed as the light slowly fled her mouth, as her lips closed, the last ray of light coming from the center of her lips as they eventually came together.
The water poured down her throat leaving Lenny on her tongue. Distraught but unwilling to give up, Lenny ran towards her closed lips, to the tiny bit of light that peered through. If he could reach them, force himself through! But it would not happen. Her glistening teeth closed before Lenny could pass them. Screaming in frustration he body slammed himself against he teeth. His arm fit through one of the gaps between them and he struggled to fit the rest of his body between as well. He pressed and struggled, but it was no use, he would not break through. He did however manage to get himself stuck.
âHelpâŚâŚNevaehâŚHelpâŚHello!â Lenny screamed and shouted, but it was useless. He was stuck between her teeth like a food scrap, and he couldnât help but think, he wanted to get in her mouth sure, but not like this.
Few Hours Later
âSo Lenny never showed? How rude.â Krystel said before taking a bite of her burger. She swallowed before speaking up once more. âDid you wait long?â
âTwo and a Half hours, I even cleared a little bit, but he never show.â Nevaeh let out a sigh and rested her head in her left hand. âI really thought he was going to ask me out today.â
âLenny Appleton! Are you serious? Nevaeh you can do so much better than that little insect!â Krystel nearly spit out her coke.
âKrystel, heâs really sweet, and funny, a little shy, but thereâs nothing wrong with him. Heâs sweet.â
Krstel took a few fries into her hand, pointing one of them towards Nevaehâs mouth. As she spoke, swallowing as she did. âGot something in your teeth there.â
âOh? How embarrassing!â Nevaeh turned red as she brought her tongue to her teeth to try and move it. After a while she grew frustrating and picked at it with her nail. Eventually it came free, she simply swallowed it and took a drink to seal the deal. Strangely enough, she could have sworn she felt something odd.
âWhatâs wrong? Taste bad?â
âNoâŚjustâŚI donât know but I could have sworn I heard someone calling my name.â
